Data protection? – But of course!
These days it is normal to have to register on Internet portals. Whether you want to download documents from the Internet or order goods. Who hasn't felt a little uneasy and thought: what actually happens to my data?

What is data protection exactly?

Editorial: Data protection? – But of course!

In its true sense, data protection is not protecting data but the identity of the individual. As the "data subject" (that's the official term) you have certain rights, which are established in data protection law applicable throughout the EU.

First of all there's the right to informational self determination; in other words, you yourself should be able to determine how your personal data is used.
You can exercise this right when you are briefed by the "processing centre" before your data is processed and you are told the specific purpose for which the data will be processed.

Only then can you protect your other rights: the right to information, the right to correct and if necessary delete or block any of your stored data.

Data protection at Pilz

We only process your personal data with your express agreement. This means that we will only store and process the data that you give us yourself.

This is data provided for the purpose of processing your enquiry and sending you the requested information.

Personal data that you provide may also be used to send you further information and offers. You can withdraw your consent for this secondary use at any time.

We will not pass any personal data to a third party.

What do we mean by data security?

Data security is based on several fundamentals:

  • Confidentiality: Data is to be protected via authorisations (e.g. passwords), so that only authorised persons have access.
  • Integrity: Data is protected against falsification and deletion
  • Availability: Data must be available at the right time and be able to be processed correctly.
  • Authenticity: The origin of the data must be identifiable at all times.
  • Transparency: The method in which the data is processed must be traceable
