Production site tested and constantly monitored
|
TÜV-Nord has certified that the items produced in the Pilz manufacturing site and the work equipment and measures used in manufacturing are suitable for the production of high-quality electronic products. To achieve this it was necessary to prove under strict conditions that, in technical and organisational terms, the manufacturing sites are set up and managed in such a way as to guarantee consistent quality of manufacture and of the products themselves. Authorisation to attach a TÜV Nord safety mark is bound up with strict conditions, which are regularly inspected and monitored by the TÜV notified body.

Functional Safety Management (FSM) certificate for development
|
The Pilz development department operates in accordance with a management system bound by strict conditions and specifications (Functional Safety Management), which meets the requirements of EN/IEC 61508.
This was tested to strict standards by TÜV and confirmed by certificate.
The underlying processes and measures are subject to an annual proof test.

Pilz accredited as an inspection body
|
The German Accreditation Body for Technology (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS)) certifies that Pilz GmbH & Co. KG, Ostfildern is competent in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020. As a result Pilz is qualified to carry out inspections for plant and machinery, presses, packaging machines, robots, power-driven work equipment plus electrosensitive and tactile protective equipment and associated safety facilities, in accordance with the statutory standards and specifications.

Accredited EMC test laboratory

Since 2004 Pilz has operated an independent EMC test laboratory accredited by DATech (represented in the German Accreditation Council DAR).
This confirms that Pilz GmbH & Co. KG, Ostfildern is competent to undertake electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and is qualified to generate EMC test reports in accordance with ISO 17025, which are recognised across Europe and suitable for the declaration of conformity, as required by law.

EX-protection certification (ATEX)
|
Pilz applies a quality assurance system which meets the requirements of Annex IV of Council Directive No. 94/9/EC for equipment and protective systems for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX).
This was certified by TÜV with an EC certificate and is subject to a strict, annual inspection.
