Energy efficiency plays an important role at Pilz. When processing safe signals with the decentralised I/O system PSSuniversal, energy consumption is clearly reduced.
That's because on the PSSuniversal, all of the safety technology is integrated within the head module. This saves energy, unlike other established systems, on which safety is integrated within each individual module. This reduces the power dissipation, i.e. the amount of power within a component that's converted into heat. This results in a significant energy saving. The individual power dissipation can be calculated in advance via the software tool PSSuniversal Assistant.
With PSSuniversal it is possible to save up to 40 % of power dissipation - compared with other systems - depending on the number of safe modules required.
